Most vehicles will be able to power up HID kits without an aftermarket relay harness when its first installed. Most newer vehicles may even be able to run HID kits without an aftermarket harness for a very long time. But the truth is, factory harnesses were not designed to properly power an aftermarket HID kit. This may lead to the factory headlight plugs prematurely burning out. We recommend utilizing a relay harness if your vehicle headlight plugs seem to be old or in poor condition or if you just want the extra peace of mind.
A harness is very simple to install. It connects to a ballast and the existing plug and play HID wires. An inline fuse is also installed to ensure the most reliability out of any hid kit. Due to customer demand, these relay harnesses are no longer included in the Meng Motorsports HID kits in order to lower its price. So this relay harness is now optional and can be purchased at a low price for vehicle owners who wish to have it.
Note: Our Bi-Xenon HID kits already include a controller with a relay harness. This optional relay harness is meant for added safety with our regular heavy duty HID kits.
Refer to our
Meng Motorsports HID kit installation manual. Relay harnesses include a one year warranty. However, these harnesses are not waterproof, we cannot warranty any harnesses due to corrosion from water.
